Preparing for WFH Due to Omicron

A number of companies are ready to re-implement the work from home (WFH) system to anticipate the surge in Covid-19 transmission due to the Omicron variant.
Corporate Secretary of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Aestika Oryza Gunarto, said that the company's WFH implementation will be adjusted to the zoning provisions in each region. The WFH policy has actually been implemented since the beginning of the pandemic. However, to maintain productivity, BRI applies the concept of flexi working to make it easier for workers to remain productive even though they have to reduce mobility due to the pandemic. The call to re-implement WFH was made by the Coordinator for the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for Java-Bali, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments appealed to companies to resume WFH in the next two weeks. The goal is to suppress the transmission rate of the Omicron variant which continues to climb. Jokowi reminded the public to limit activities in public spaces. He also asked the community as much as possible to do WFH. "If you don't have an urgent need, you should reduce activities in crowded centers. For those who can work from home, work from home, do work from home," said Jokowi. PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) also fully supports this government decision. PLN's Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and TJSL, Agung Murdifi, said that the PLN head office had implemented 75 percent WFH. Meanwhile, other units will follow local government regulations. The application of the policy of working from the office or WFO of a maximum of 25 percent is carried out with strict procedures.
