Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that Indonesia's opportunity in this year's G-20 presidency could improve national economic performance. "As many as 33,000 jobs are predicted to be available as the G-20 is held in Indonesia. In addition, the G-20 can also increase domestic consumption by Rp. 1.7 trillion, thereby contributing to an increase in the national gross domestic product of Rp. 7.4 trillion," said Airlangga. This estimate is based on the number of G-20 forums being held, which is more than 150 meetings in 19 cities, with the number of delegates attending at least 18,000 people. Airlangga reminded that the economic impact of holding the G-20 forum in Indonesia can be realized if there is coordination and synergy between the central government, regional governments, entrepreneurs, and the community. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan guaranteed that the G-20 forum under the Indonesian presidency could increase investment. Moreover, the government has prepared various incentive schemes, both for domestic investment and foreign investment.
