One Price Cooking Oil

Through this policy, all cooking oil, both premium packaging and simple packaging, will be sold at an equivalent price, at Rp. 14,000 per liter, to meet household needs, as well as micro and small businesses.
The government also requires exporters of crude palm oil (CPO), refined bleached and deodorized palm olein (RBD Palm Olein), and used cooking oil (UCO), reporting or recording the fulfillment of domestic needs to obtain export approval (PE). Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi, Tuesday (18/1/2022), said that at the beginning of the implementation of the policy, the supply of cooking oil at one price would be made through modern retailers who are members of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo). As for traditional markets, one week will be given to adjust. “This policy has been socialized to all cooking oil producers and modern retailers. So far, 34 cooking oil producers have expressed their commitment to participate in providing packaged cooking oil at one price for the community," he said at a press conference in Jakarta. Director of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Trade Oke Nurwan added, in implementing the one-price cooking oil policy, the government will subsidize or cover the difference between the economic price and the highest retail price (HET) for simple and premium packaged cooking oil. The amount of subsidized cooking oil also increased from 1.2 billion liters for six months to 1.5 billion liters for six months. Therefore, the subsidy fund using BPDPKS funds was increased from Rp. 3.6 trillion to Rp. 7.6 trillion.
