Sinar Mas Insurance Issuers (LIFE) to AMAG Reap Blessings, Positive First Quarter/2021 Performance

A number of insurance issuers posted positive performance in the first quarter of 2021 in line with improving economic conditions.
Most issuers posted growth in premiums, profits and assets, with claims that mostly declined. Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and information on the official website of each company, as many as 13 insurance issuers have published their financial statements for the first quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, the total insurance issuers reached 15 companies consisting of 13 general insurance, one conventional life insurance, one sharia life insurance, and one reinsurance. From all published reports, Bisnis noted that there were 9 issuers that recorded premium growth during the first quarter of 2021. PT Asuransi Jiwa Sinarmas MSIG Tbk. (LIFE) received the highest premium of IDR 1.2 trillion, while recording the highest growth of 93.8 percent (year-on-year / yoy) from the previous IDR 628.8 billion. There are four issuers that posted a slowdown in premiums, all of which are general insurance companies. Even so, other general insurance companies managed to maintain their premium performance in the first quarter of this year, even some recorded significant growth.
