Recruiting OJK Boss Candidates

Registration of candidates for chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the period 2022-2027 is open.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who was appointed by President Joko Widodo to lead the selection committee (pansel) along with eight other members, announced that registration was open for 12 working days, namely 7-25 January 2022. The selection process will consist of four stages, namely administrative selection, assessment papers, track records and input from the community, medical assessments and tests, as well as affirmations or interviews. "The panel will select the names of 21 candidates for the board of commissioners who will be presented to the president," Sri Mulyani said yesterday. After that, the President will screen the candidates into 14 names to be submitted to the House of Representatives. Furthermore, the DPR conducted a fit and proper test, and then selected seven new commissioners. "The president then appointed seven members of the OJK Board of Commissioners for the period 2022-2027 which are scheduled to be inaugurated on July 20, 2022." Based on Presidential Decree No. 145/P/2021, the appointed selection committee consists of nine people, including the chairperson, which consists of representatives from the government, Bank Indonesia, and the public. The three government representatives are Sri Mulyani, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, and Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara. Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo and BI Deputy Governor Dody Budi Waluyo were appointed as representatives of the central bank. The community element consists of four people. Agustinus Prasetyantoko, Chancellor of Atma Jaya Catholic University, from academic representatives; Muhamad Chatib, former Minister of Finance who is now President Commissioner/Independent Commissioner of Bank Mandiri, became a member of the panel of representatives of the banking industry; Ito Warsito, Commissioner of PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia, as a representative member of the capital market industry; and Julian Noor, President Commissioner/Independent Commissioner of Main Reinsurance, as representatives of the non-bank financial industry.
